At Forecast 2011 & Beyond on January 26, 2011, the Builders Association of Northern Nevada presented the results of An economic impact study conducted by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Housing Policy Department. The study shows that the home building industry in Reno, NV not only pays for itself, its economic impact results in new income and jobs for Nevadans and additional revenue for local governments. EPA Lead Paint Renovator Certification law goes into effect April 1, 2010
Under new EPA rules that go into effect in April, 2010, contractors performing renovation, repair and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities, schools, or other buildings where children may be present that were built before 1978 must be certified and must follow specific work practices to minimize occupants’ exposure to lead hazards.
