Members of this committee are appointed by the association President
and serve two-year terms. The duties of the Finance Committee include
the oversight and supervision of the associations financial
position, investments, and programs affecting the financial health
of BANN. The constant vigilance assures that the association continues
to prosper, functioning much like a successful business venture.

Charged with enhancing BANNs image and promoting contributions
made to our community by BANN and its members, the Public Relations
committee fulfills a valuable role in continuing to assure the association
remains the Voice of the Building Industry.

This committees mission is to keep abreast of the many laws and ordinances
affecting the construction industry. During a legislative session,
which is bi-annual in Nevada, BANN will utilize the services of a
full-time lobbyist to keep the committee aware of proposed legislation
and its status. This committee also interviews candidates for public
office at the local and state levels.

Laws passed by state and local governments arent the only things
that affect a construction timelinewe also deal with regulations
issued by local utility companies in such diverse areas as street
cuts, vaults, and trenching. The Utilities and Offsites Committee
meets to review these proposals as they are issued and provides valuable
feedback to the utility companies who are designing the regulation,
mitigating adverse effects before implementation when possible.

A single person does not have the ability to keep abreast of the many
changes at a local or state level. Northern Nevada alone deals with
three local municipalities comprised of several bureaucratic levels,
all of which affect the way we build. The Codes Committee is charged
with reviewing regulations and ordinances prior to their adoption,
providing agencies with valuable insight as to how our ability to
provide affordable housing will be affected.

A variety of successful insurance programs has proven to provide a
strong incentive for membership in BANN. At the present time, the
association sponsors an extraordinarily competitive group health insurance
program designed to benefit our member companies and their employees.
This committee continues to explore insurance options that will provide
benefits far in excess of premium payments.

To maintain an effective voice in the community, the Builders Association
relies on the strength of its collective membership. With more than
880 member companies, the Builders Association can generate the political
clout to accomplish most any goal. The Membership Committee is charged
with the recruitment and retention of interested and qualified members.

The Builders Associations SPIKE Club is an elite group of
membership recruiters within the organization. Members achieve SPIKE
status upon recruiting six new members, and must maintain that status
by continuing to recruit new BANN members. SPIKE Club members are
recognized at both local and national levels with special events,
parties and functions designed to enhance the desirability of SPIKE
Club recognition.

Charged with enhancing the educational opportunities and furthering the professional development of individuals in the building industry. Members of the committee work with the National Association of Home Builders to facilitate seminars and training opportunities.

Composed of Purchasing Agents, Suppliers, and Subcontractors, this committee is designed to enhance the relationship between business people. The committee is designing an awards program geared toward the workers in the industry and are hosting NAHB'S Quality Assurance Program for Subcontractors as well as producing the Northern Nevada Building Conference.
